The Castle Valley Acting Company is excited to announce auditions for Thumbelina!

Auditions will be:
Thursday, August 25 from 5-6:00 pm.
Saturday, August 27 from 11:00am-noon
All auditions will be held at the Helper City Library.
All youth ages 6-18 are encouraged to attend.
If you are unable to attend at these times please email or call me to schedule a private audition time.
First rehearsal will be September 6 from 4-5:30 pm. Location to be announced.

We are very excited for the 2011 season. We have added opportunities for youth to be involved in costume design and production, set design and production, stage management, an assistant youth director, and many more!!
If you know of any youth who may be interested in helping with these aspects but who may not be interested in acting in the production please tell them to attend auditions or contact me.

Upcoming Workshops

We are excited to announce the dates of our spring workshop. It will be held on March 15, 16, 17, 22, 23, and 24 from 4-6:00 pm. Workshop will be held in the Helper Civic Auditorium. Workshop will be open to youth age 6-18.
Participants will work in groups. Each group will study the makings of a play from start to finish. It will be important for participants to attend as many days as possible. Workshop will be free, however participants will need to provide the materials that they will use to construct props and costumes. Each participant will need to bring paper and pencil.

Mar 15: Script Concept and Writing
Mar 16: Auditions/Casting and Script Completion
Mar 17: Costume and Set Design
Mar 22: Rehearsal and Costumes/Set Construction
Mar 23: Rehearsal and Costumes/Set Construction
Mar 24: Performance

2010 Spring Show

This season we are excited to announce that we will be performing The Firebird. Rehearsals begin on January 9, 2010 at 10:00am. We are also pleased to announce that this season we will be able to rehearse and perform at the local Rio Theatre. We would like to thank Helper City and the Helper City Library for allowing us to do this.

2010 Season Auditions

We will be holding auditions for our 2010 spring performance on Wed. Dec 16, 2009 at 4:00 pm and Sat. Dec 19, 2009 at 1:00 pm at the Helper City Library. These will be the only auditions. We will have two groups this year, ages 6-11 and ages 12-18. This will allow more opportunity for our younger actors to get experience and stage time. Those who wish to audition will be asked to recite something that they have memorized, such as a short song or nursery rhyme. We are very excited to begin our new season and are looking forward to seeing everyone again.

2009 Performance of Lady and the Lion

Castle Valley Acting Company's first performance of The Lady and the Lion was a real success. The cast seemed to enjoy the experience, which was formost in my mind. We also received an overwhelming response from the community. Our audiences were great and we were so thankful for them and for the generous donations that were made. This money will be used to help fund future productions and to support the Helper Library, without whose support we would not have been able to accomplish these shows. I wanted to thank the parents once more for lending their children and their time to our cause. We are so excited for next season!

Upcoming Production of The Lady and the Lion

For our first production we will be performing an adaptation of the Grimm's fairy tale The Lady and the Lion. Performance dates will be the 15th, 16th, and 18th of May, 2009 at 6:00 pm. They will be held at the Helper Civic Auditorium in Helper, Utah. Admission is free.
